in the news police are on the scene of a triple shooting that happened overnight in the fair hill section of philadelphia. one person is dead. find out what police know about this incident. hello, good morning i'm ukee washington. i'm erika von tiehl. also the front of the vacant house collapseness point breeze overnight on the same day that the the marries talking about how the city is tackling this problem. students at rutgers are looking to make changes to their mar cot find out why they say the current scarlet knight isn't working katie. >> today will be a day where we not only see temperatures take a hit here but we will keep some more subtle forecast for you as we are tracking a sluggish frontal passage.

still good wet weather. we will see a little bit of green over my shoulders. we discuss what it will do in terms of impacting your morning drive but eventually nicer weather waits in the wings. full details coming up. ukee, back to you. we are following a still developing story philadelphia police searching for evidence following a deadly triple shooting in philadelphia's fair hell section. >> "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao joins us from police headquarters with the very latest information. good morning. >> reporter: erika and ukee, good morning a lot of shots were fired in fair hill overnight. by the end of the hoot out three men were injured, one of them has now died. the the two surviving men are still in the hospital this morning and police say they are being treated as suspects at this point. this all started just after 12:30 on the 3100 block of north sixth street in the fair will hill section of philadelphia. officers on routine patrol, heard all of the gunshots and when they arrived on the scene they found those three men

injured. police say a man in his 20's was shot multiple times in the head and body and pronounced dead at the hospital. a 22-year old and 23 year-old man were also hot both taken to temple youth hospital where they remain in stable condition this morning. in the meantime police recovered three guns, two ditched under a van and one in the recycling bin. there are businesses in this area. police hope they have surveillance video capturing the hooting. this is a large scene to process as well. it will take sometime. it will stretch from clear field street to allegheny avenue. >> we know a lot of shots were fired from several caliber weapons. wel casings. we don't believe we are done counting shell casing. we believe we will find both of these victims alive are being held as suspects just due to the fact that we found three weapons on the scene. there is a possibility that our victims all three victims may have been in possession of one of these weapons.

>> reporter: now police have have not released the names of the people involved, in this deadly shooting and they have not released a motive for it either but they do say with the number of shot fired that it does look like this rick tim was targeted. we will stay on top of it the but we're reporting live, outside police headquarters, jan carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". bricks rained down on the local street where a front of the home collapses overnight. "eyewitness news" at 1400 block of bouvier in the point breeze section. the home was in danger of collapsing. collapse comes on the same day mayor michael nutter, l and i and fire department are holding an event to talk about the the cities pro active response to dangerous city. l and i and fire department will announce that they will now conduct joint inspections of vacant properties. right now 4:33. lets get back to katie. i love our coolest day is in the 70's. >> normal high is 71 degrees. we should exceed that here

today. off to a mile start. we are still tracking the full passage of what is a sluggish front but for now sky cam three as we overlook ben franklin bridge looks quiet but damp depend ing on your neighborhood. we did have a quick pocket of rain around 1:30 a.m. or so through western suburbs and then over philadelphia, you can see that retreating out to sea. all that is left at this point are a few speckles of green and steady round of rain off to the north. that is going to survive as it stays off to the south here but the front of heavier rain will stay north of i80 my bad, i80 as we go throughout the day here. so what does that mean for our forecast? rebound that much. we are off to a nice mild start but don't expect much more than main seven or eight or 9 degrees added on to these totals by the end of the day. we are expecting to hit mid 70's technically above average but we are leveling off with the passage of the front. you can see where the front a

left-hand lane. you can still bypass construction between i-95 and schuylkill but may set you back slightly. but because we're in the dealing with volume, not too much and it wraps up around five a o'clock. only half an hour or so left. ninety-five looking great. travel around cottman center city delaware county. all majors are quiet in pennsylvania, delaware and new jersey. traveling the the pennsylvania turnpike east and westbound we have construction between valley forge and fort washington, so you will want to anticipate some 20 minute stoppages between those point until about 5:00 this morning. erika. >> thank you. happening today eight year-old aniyah curry will undergo surgery to remove a bullet still lodged in her skull there a drive by shooting this weekend. a gunman opened fire on that little girl and her family as they double parked at 53rd and haverford saturday night. they think the gun was upset about the car blocking traffic so he fired in the rear window. now, the family is pleading

for whom ever is responsible to turn himself in. >> she's eight years old. she didn't deserve it. she didn't. she is an innocent child. >> it wasn't minor this is a serious incident. she is still in pain right now. she could have died. >> aniyah's three and four year-old sisters were also in the back seat. they were not the hurt. philadelphia police hope the public can help them find a man who abduct and sexually assaulted a woman. the attack happened a friday morning on the east york street on the border of kensington continue on and fishtown. woman was walking when a man pointed a gun at the her forced her in the van and kept her captive for over an hour. investigators believe the man is likely hispanic, 21 to 25 years of age 5 feet seven to 5 feet ten with a light complexion. if you have any information please contact the the philadelphia police. new information is this morning on the cartoon car

test shooting in texas. federal law enforcement official say authority were investigating one of the two gunman killed touring sunday's attack. the isis claims it is the group's first attack on american soil, but the the chairman of the house home land security committee says there is no evidence that the the group was behind this. meanwhile the the cause of the triple fatal fire in west caln township monday had been ruled accidental. authorities say that the the fire was spark by smoking materials, discarded in a trash bin outside of the home. the victims have been identified as 58 year-old rowlandaremel and her sister sally, and her daughter, 37 year-old angel remel. four others including two children escaped. major layoffs including cuts to the fire department have the people in atlanta city worried about emergency response. with casinos failing and city revenues falling budget cuts are inevitable. yesterday, a civil service commission approved the cities plan to eliminate 200 jobs.

two maple shade new jersey parent said their daughter with autism needs medical marijuana during the school day. >> they are preparing to fight in court to get it for her. jenny is 16 years old and severely autistic. her parents say medicinal marijuana a in the form of cannabis oil reduced her seizures dramatically but judge recently sided with school district officials. he said federal drug laws label marijuana as a dangerous drug. that makes it illegal to he have is it on school property. the parents want the laws, changed. >> she has got a transitioning problem. she cannot just change from place to place and everything is fine f she got in the mommy

up. phillies wrap up with the braves in atlanta tonight. jerome williams goes for his third win of the season for fightins. the last night phillies started chad billingsly did not farewell in the first start in two seasons. the braves freddie freeman greeted him with a two run home run blast in the first inning. willingly allowed six runs in five innings. phillies managed home three hits all night long and they lose to the braves nine to nothing. chase utley was benched for last night's game and he is not expected to play tonight. phillies are off tomorrow. chase will have a few days to get away from the game. he is hitting .103, and manager ryne sandberg says utley could use a mental break big time. here's a closer look at chase's struggles. nine hits in 87 plate appearances, three home runs, 14 runs batted in, seven walks, four strike outs and zero doubles or triples. that is 103 batting average and it is worst average among players with enough plate

when we take these tests we don't actually do anything. we use the tutorials. one of the tutorials showed things like how to change the background color in an online test environment and it takes time away from learning math and science and english and all the things that i really enjoy learning. they can't do as much because they have to administer this test on the computer. and that's really one of the worst parts of the test.

here's the schuylkill expressway not too far from girard avenue. no problems just yet. speed sensors nice and high up in the 50's and not only in pennsylvania. it is a pennsylvania delaware, it is new jersey, it is every where. we have a lot of good news out there. if you are traveling in media elwyn road is closed between middletown and baltimore pike because of down wires. rose tree road is the the best alternate. i'm hoping, katie weather-wise you are in a happy mood as well. >> i'm in a good mood. i can't say the same forstrom scan three. we're still tracking a frontal boundary moving off to the south and continues to bring instead i rain just outside our area, very obviously trailing right along just north of the i80 corridor. some of that will settle south and we will end up a couple pockets of the rain as well. not a wash out by any stretch this will not move south as it stand right now but you will find a few little rounds of rain along the the way for the the first half of the day. because it is a cold front it will center temperatures on a
